No, SVBA does not have its own gym. We utilize outdoor courts and rent indoor courts at local schools, churches, and recreation centers to carry out our programs. At times, we may practice outdoors due to the limited availability of gymnasium time.

At SVBA, we carefully group our sessions by both age and skill level, ensuring that every young athlete receives the most relevant coaching tailored to their unique needs. This thoughtful approach not only fosters a supportive learning environment but also promotes continuous improvement and confidence. Upgrading to the next level is a structured process that requires the coach’s approval, allowing athletes to progress in a way that’s both effective and motivating, helping them reach their full potential in the sport.

A tryout session is an invaluable chance for participants to dive into the world of basketball and experience the unique culture of our Academy. During this session, our dedicated coaches closely evaluate each participant’s coordination, skills, and athletic potential to guide them towards the most fitting program tailored just for them.

SVBA offers a compelling opportunity with a free tryout session. To take advantage of this great experience, youth must schedule their session a week in advance, ensuring they secure their place and begin their journey towards basketball excellence.

At clinics, kids engage in productive one-day skill sessions that last between 1.5 to 3 hours. These sessions are designed to focus on specific skills or fundamentals, allowing participants to receive in-depth instruction and refine their abilities. Through a variety of drills and competitions, children enhance their skill development, while live-action playing is intentionally excluded to prioritize learning and improvement.

At camps, kids have an exciting opportunity to engage in a variety of activities that foster both skill development and fun. Lasting between 3 to 8 hours per day, each camp day begins with dynamic warm-ups that prepare participants for the day ahead. Throughout the day, campers participate in station and drill work, focusing on enhancing their abilities in a supportive environment.

Furthermore, the camps feature exciting games, ranging from 1-on-1 to 5-on-5 matchups, encouraging teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy competition. Alongside these structured games, kids also indulge in entertaining activities that add joy to their experience, ensuring they learn valuable skills while having a blast!

What does a kid or youth need to participate in a tryout, session, clinic, or camp? To shine in a tryout, session, clinic, or camp, kids need a few essential items. First, they should bring a basketball with their full name on it for easy identification. Comfortable athletic attire, such as shorts, T-shirts, or sweatpants, is important for movement. Proper basketball shoes are essential for support and grip. Lastly, a water bottle is a must to stay hydrated and energized. Being well-prepared boosts confidence and enhances the overall experience!
